Waves crash and Isomara shout as they bring their nets and family to the open shores. The water has turned a bright pastel pink once again this year. A tad delayed according to the sea-watching swimmers who patrol the shallows, but nonetheless, they are still pleased that the colorful currents have arrived as they do not always come by every year. The waters are teaming in nutrient-rich algae and an abundance of skrill. Parties of Isomara make way to catch the biggest haul before any others.
"The pink water is back mammi Car!" announces a young Isoling tugging at Carmen's wing.
Carmen looks down at the young Isoling and says "Yes, yes, and hopefully, we'll catch a jumbo skrill that you've been yearning for."
The child gasps, their sparkling eyes filled with happiness and hope. They both continue to stare out at the pink sea.
Not everyone near the shore is out for the largest haul, some are here for a single legendary prize. Rumor has it that the Jumbo Skrill have decided to swim up higher out of the depths than previously recorded. This means they will be more likely chances to come across and catch one! Jumbo skrill provide more HP than the normal Skrill and also grant a very special trait for Isomara. When eaten the Isomara earns an alternate coat palette. Named after the Chameleon who can blend in and alter its color Isomara can now earn this new Chameleon Special Trait by consuming a single Jumbo Skrill.
Note: Consuming a Jumbo Skrill for the Chameleon Special Trait was only available during Colorful Currents 2020, Jumbo Skrill do not normally grant this trait. Instead, characters can obtain and use a Camo Scrub to earn the Chameleon Special Trait now.

When: February 28th, 2020 - March 6th, 2020
Nearly every February the ocean water becomes concentrated with newly born skrill on the hunt for nutrition which has them digging away in the coral reefs and ocean floor searching for algae and salt deposits which all combine to bring this unnatural color to the waters directly around the island.
It is not recommended to stay in the water for too long as the water is extremely concentrated with salt plus you never know when a school of skrill will come along and start nibbling at your fur. Of course that does not stop anyone. This year the Jumbo Skrill are more abundant and who can pass that up!
During this event, Jumbo Skrill will have an increased chance to appear in all Ocean and Coral Reef Explorations.
There is also a Free Fishing Hole comment chain where Frio will give away some of his catch
Island Exploration Information
- Skrill and Jumbo Skrill will be more abundant and common
- Kelp will be more common
- Squid and Lobsters will be less common
- Shark, Seagull, and Skrill creature encounters will be more frequent, watch out the waters are dangerous!
Frio's Fishing Hole Information
- Everyone can comment in the Free Fishing Hole thread once a day (Days refresh at midnight MST)
- There is a 1-in-25 chance for a Jumbo Skrill (1-10 = x2 Skrill, 11-24 = x4 Skrill, 25 = x1 Jumbo Skrill)
- One Isomara needs to be linked in the comment (If you do not have an Isomara you can use D0001 - Deus, The Community Duestrum Isomara)
- Entry comments into Frio's Fishing Hole can be turned in for class experience towards any class (+5xp)
- (Only the Isomara linked in the comment can use the Exp for turn-in)
Exploration Tip: Isomara with fishing equipment have better chances at more skrill and at catching Jumbo Skrill
