Voyaging

What is Voyaging?

Voyaging is a similar activity to exploration, except instead of searching the island for goods, voyaging is searching outside the island's boundaries for goods you cannot normally obtain on the home island. Your isomara can even be the first to discover new things such as items, land, fauna, and more!
For an Isomara to become a voyager, they must gain the Island Hopper Achievement by completing voyaging verification.

How does it work?

Similar to exploration, you will need to draw/write about your Isomara(s); however, instead of being in a specified biome, your Isomara will be flying or swimming. You ultimately have creative freedom in your pictures and literature. As long as you incorporate your Isomara in the air or water at some point, some way, or even a little, and they are not on the home island, it counts. They can be on a small new patch of land, soaring through clouds, in underwater caverns, etc. Have fun and be as creative as you want. We are pretty lenient with the requirement, so if your Isomara is standing on rocks in underwater caverns near a large body of water, we will assume they just got out of the water, and we will allow it.

When you submit a voyaging, you eventually receive the rewards and a comment describing the outcome. This usually entails if you discovered anything new, how far your isomara went on their journey, and if they managed to bring anything back. It is not uncommon to come back empty-handed, but usually if an isomara does there will at least be new information to share with the community. As time goes on and discoveries are made, the extended map will slowly become more revealed, and the list of discoveries will expand.

The Extended Map

As illustrated by the map above, much of it is clouded and unknown. Isomara have never really left the comforts of their island for as long as anyone can remember. So, it is now the job of the new generation of voyagers to discover what is out there! When submitting a voyage, you will need to commit to which direction your isomara are setting out to. Below is a map that describes the different directions. You need to choose whether your Isomara went north, northwest, west, southwest, south, and so on and so forth.
You can only pick one direction per voyage. Furthermore, you may have as many Isomaras as you want in on a voyage as long as they all have the Island Hopper Achievement.
