Isomaras in Exile

This page is a work in progress

In history exiled Isomara are isomara who were kicked out of their village, out of society and meant to live on their own without the help and community of others. Often exiles were seen as dangerous, could be considered as criminals. Whether they were dangerous on purpose or accident didnt matter. If you accidently led a memic to the village, continued to cause trouble, lost iso eggs, stole from others, destroyed property, etc. you were exiled. Taken from your home in the middle of the night by adults of the village, your whites dyed with a pigment that would last years and then told to march away from the village.
Word would spread and you were known to never be let back in to any village.

If an Isomara was born with dyed whites it was seen as bad luck, and eyes would always be on you just waiting for the moment you slipped up. elder isomara saw it as an omen that you were more likely to cause harm and bring ill will to the village.

Nowadays though there is an influx of Isomara who dye their whites and become exiles willingly. They are not always dangerous or clumsy to a fault. They can be seen as delinquents or outcasts. It can be a fashion statement against the old ways, a way to say I will not follow the rules of society or I want to live my own way/ follow a different path. These Isomara who willingly dye their whites and becomes exiles and are not barred from coming back to the village, but others are still wary of their presence.
