[E-Forest] E: Forest - Pet training begins

Horacio headed out with his bahrū pup, Zap, at his heels. He’d been working with Zap on training as inexperienced as he was with it and as distracted as Zap could be, it was coming along very slowly, but it was coming along nonetheless. So today he wanted to take Zap out for a walk in the forest. With a collar, lead and a little bag of treats, Horacio led Zap into the forest, letting the tall trees cover them with their shade, the sunny weather made cool by the trees. Ordinarily he would have flown there, but Zap wasn’t fond of being picked up yet, so flying with him wouldn’t have been a good idea. 

Together they wandered into the forest. Horacio took it slow, allowing Zap to stop and investigate any sights or smells he came across. They stopped a lot. The young bahrū liked to sniff at just about every bush or tree they passed. 

Horacio sighed as they stopped for what felt like the fifty millionth time. “Well I guess at least you’re having some fun.” 

Growing bored, the Isomara lay down on the forest floor, mostly made up of some leaves, grass and a few twigs. He grimaced as a twig poked at his belly and he stood to grab it, tossing it away before lying back down. Zap turned, ears perked at the sound of the stick landing elsewhere. 

“It was just me, bud. Don’t worry about it.” He tossed a treat on the ground to distract the bahrū. Zap watched it fall and ran up to eat it, crunching happily on the portion of biscuit. When he was finished, he looked back up at Horacio expectantly. 

“Ya ready for training now?” 

Zap just continued to watch him. 

“I’ll take that as a yeah.” Horacio sat up and dug another treat out of the bag. “Sit.” 

Zap tilted his head and stared at him. 

“Sit,” Horacio tried again, lifting the treat between his claws over the bahrū’s head until his rump hit the ground. “Good boy.” 

Grabbing another, he guided Zap to the ground with another command, “Lie down.” 

They continued this for a little while, neither of them having a long attention span, before traipsing back through the woods again. Horacio watched Zap as the bahrū once again stopped to sniff at something. As annoying as it was, he was glad to have the sparky critter in his life.
