[#1] A Peppery Nightmare?

It was a fairly breezy day to be foraging around in a forest; trees would shake every now and then, leaves would fall out from their plant of origin, and upon gazing up towards the sky, it was fairly cloudy. Scratching at the scruff of her white mane, the orange Iso then shuddered upon a strong gust that brushed against her fur. "Brrr..! A bit cold for an upcoming summer...I wonder if the ancient Isomara of the sky is angry at this time of the year..." Ruffling up her orange fur and white cotton fur as if a Bahrū would when charging its electricity...Sherbyte however, only did this to keep debris and leaves sticking to her frame.

The orange Iso wanted to keep foraging however, and probably in hopes of finding something edible and tasty; rummaging around some thick brush she accidentally spooks some of the local Blepper, whoops. Sounds of their little panicked feet padding about onto the forest floor had only led Sherbyte further into the wild foliage, only for her to spot some strange 'fruit' in a vibrant red and orange hue. Her deep purple eyes had sparked in interest upon discovering such an interesting plant with some oddly shaped bulbs. 'Well what do we have here?' Tapping a white claw at the scruff of fur on her chin, the orange Iso slowly circles around the strange plant, its leaves, stalks and vines looked to be a deep hearty green.

With curiosity plaguing at the back of her mind, there was also a soft spoken voice in her head that warned her 'don't do it, don't eat strange and colorful plants!' It halted her intrusive backdoor thoughts at first, but with the breezy weather and peckish feeling to her stomach bugging her, Sherbyte decided to take one of the plump red fruit off from one of its green stalks; and pops it into her mouth. Nothing really happened at first, until her taste buds got a tingly sensation to them, as if that strange feeling weren't enough, the orange Iso started feeling a burning sensation to her mouth, then through out her body. Her face beneath all that fur had began to turn red...much so, that she needn't worry about the cold anymore.

Panic slowly starts setting in to Sherbyte's mind as she started looking around for a source of water; a puddle, juicy melon, anything at this point to calm this searing sensation in her mouth! She started making a run for it out of the forest, however the spice in her mouth had other plans; there was an urge of impulse in gaping her mouth open, then all of a sudden a jet stream of flames spew out from her mouth! This started burning the wild plant life around the area, and charring the greenery upon that general direction; when the striped orange Iso managed to stop herself, the surge of adrenaline eventually turned into mortification.

'Dear ancients, what have I done...' Sherbyte thought to herself, frightening herself so, this was but a fragment of why fire safety lessons existed in the first place; she didn't think much of it at first, but the shear power of hot flames aren't to be messed with. The area around her was engulfed in flames, and didn't leave her much choice but to run, while it may be a cowardly thing to do, this was probably the smartest move to make; live another day, and warn nearby villages. Just by running through the burning forest however, something felt rather...off; normally flames would make the surrounding surfaces hot, smoggy and unbearable, this forest fire didn't have any of that.

What's even more curious was the fact that upon accidentally running one of her paws against the searing flames, did not burned her at all. All that fear in the Isomara slowly gets replaced by bewilderment, then confusion; this by all means is not normal of a phenomenon. Sherbyte felt a cool trickling sensation against her vibrant fur, and was not long after greeted by a strong shower of rain; the flames that spread and danced about in the forest slowly died out, and before she knew, was greeted with the ground crumbling below her, falling into a deep body of water.

In a jolt, the orange Iso woke up with the high tide greeting her straight in the face; spitting and sputtering out the salty shoreline water of which one would call the 'ocean' Sherbyte slowly gets her bearings, getting back up on her hind leds, 'Well that was an awful dream, I knew I should have slept further uphill...' In a huff, the orange Isomara dusts and shakes her fur and mane clean of sand, and waddles towards higher grounds for a more sounded rest.
